6/10/12 - New From Avet: 3-SPEEDS!
Chatsworth CA- Avet Reels has unveiled the flagship reel of the new line of 3-speed big game reels, the "Super Cow Special" EX 80-3 topless, with the industries first true 3-speed transmission. The spool holds 1500+ yds. of 130lb. spectra braid with plenty of room for topshot. The 3.2:1 high gear (46" per crank) will clear trolled lines quickly, and is perfect for kite fishing. The 2:1 mid gear (29" per crank) is is the perfect speed to power ratio for battling fish, and the 1:1 low gear (14" per crank) provides plenty of brute winch power when needed. The EX 80-3 will generate 50 lbs. of drag at strike, and 57 lbs at full. This versatile reel is offered in Avet's exclusive black matte as well as Avet's famous colored anodize finishes. This is the first " true" 80 size offering from Avet, designed to fill the gap between the existing EXW 80-2 and the EXW 50-2, being the same diameter as the EXW 80, but narrower and topless. A 2-speed version of the new 80 topless is also available; the EX 80-2. The 3-speed EXW 80-3 will soon follow, for those who prefer the wide version with the top crossbar, and is tentatively dubbed the "Grander Special".

Chatsworth CA- This years' 2012 Long Beach Fred Hall Show marks the 10th anniversary of the debut of the Avet JX and LX, Avets' flagship reels, that still remain popular today. 2/29/12 Accessory Gear Ratio Conversion Kits
Chatsworth CA- Avet Reels is now offering accessory gear kits for EX/TR-X 50, 50W, EX 80W, HX Series and HX Raptors. Avet has always offered a High-Speed 4:1 gear conversion for the EX 50 and 50W to change the stock 3.2:1 high gear to 4:1, and now offers a 1:1 low gear kit to convert from the stock 1.3:1 low gear. The 1:1 kits will be available for the EX50, 50W, 80W, TR-X 50 and TR-X 50W. The EX/TR-X 1:1 gear conversion kits are $50, as is the Hi-Speed 4:1 conversion kit.
In addition, by popular demand, a lower high gear kit for all HX 2-speed series and HX Raptors. This kit will convert the stock high gear (5.4:1) to 4.2:1. This accessory gear kit will fit Avet HXJ, HX and HXW's as well as all HX Raptors. The 4.2:1 conversion kit is $45.
2/20/12 "Raptor Style" Ratcheting Lever Conversion Kits
Chatsworth CA- Avet Reels has made available the "Raptor Style" drag lever conversion kits to retrofit to the original non-raptor 2-speed casting reels. This is the ratcheting lever system that comes standard on all Avet Raptor Series Reels. Now available to fit the non-raptor 2-speed original Avets! These kits will fit all 2-speeds, SX through LX. The non-Raptor HX reels already come equipped with this system. This kit features a clicking lever movement and a strike-stop feature. The strike-stop feature prevents lever movement beyond the strike position, unless the button is pushed to advance the lever to full. This kit will fit Avet 2-speed SX through LX ONLY. It will not work with single speed reels.

Chatsworth CA- Avet Reels announces the release date for the much anticipated MXJ 6/4 Raptor and MXL 6/4 Raptor reels. They will be unveiled at the 2011 Fred Hall Show at the Long Beach Convention Center in CA on March 9th, and will be hitting dealer shelves immediately after. These will complete the lineup of Raptors, for now at least. The Avet Raptor Series reels, based on the sizes of Avets popular 2-speed M.C. single drag reels, feature twice the drag pressure, a ratcheting drag lever arm with integrated Positive Strike Stop Button that requires a simple push of a button to advance past strike to prevent accidental advancement to full drag. As with all of their Raptor predecessors, the MX Raptors will feature Avets industry leading 2-speed gearing and M.C. Cast anti backlash cast control, standard. The new MX Raptors, similar in size to the original Avet MX Series reels, will be capable of astonishing drag pressures to 17lbs at strike and 26lbs full, making them perfect to exploit the potential of modern super braid line. They also have enhanced line capacity. These little reels will be true to their namesake..small, agile, with a bite that will subdue just about any large game.
